Okay, Destiel shippers, you better sit back and read this because I’m ONLY going to post this once.
Earlier today, my friends and I watched “Goodbye Stranger” at my friend’s house. Ana, my friend who hasn’t watched a single episode of Supernatural but is planning to this summer, instantly became curious at the way Dean and Cas stared at each other.
If I’m not mistaken, her exact words were, “They are staring at each other so passionately.”
My other friend, Anne, and I just looked at each other before telling her to continue watching.
We reached the crypt scene. Oh, that beautiful, heartbreaking, game-changer scene. Dean has been beaten to a pulp by Cas, and Cas was about to stab him with the angel blade. Then Dean said those words:
And then Cas did what he did:
And then Ana turned to me and said, "Does Cas always cup Dean’s face when he heals him?" I said no, that he only uses the two-fingered touch. Ana frowned and then said:
"He must really love Dean."
"Are you serious? Is that what you really think?" I asked her in shock.
And she said, "I don’t know because I haven’t started the series yet, but from what I just saw - Cas loves Dean. You don’t just do what Cas did to Dean in a platonic way.”
So there. If you’re still doubting or mourning or complaining about Destiel, TAKE THIS TRUE STORY AS AN EXAMPLE OF A CASUAL VIEWER WHO IMMEDIATELY SAW THE CONNECTION BETWEEN A HUNTER AND HIS ANGEL.
Because Chuckdammit, you guys. Ana doesn’t even ship same-sex couples (and so did Anne before she started shipping them hardcore), and Destiel just happens to be her only exception.
And what does that say about our ship, huh? Destiel changes lives. Destiel changes our perspective and views. And Destiel gives us hope.
There. I’ve said my piece.
